Final Fantasy VII: Details on part 3 of the remake revealed by its producer – Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Released on February 29, 2024 exclusively on PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second part of the trilogy which modernizes this classic from the first PlayStation of the name. If the third and final part is eagerly awaited by the community, it does not have a release date at the time of writing. Nevertheless, several sources have confirmed that development of the title has indeed begun. In addition, two major points were revealed.

The Hautvent at the center of the gameplay of Final Fantasy VII Remake part 3

First, Naoki Hamaguchi and Yoshinori Kitase (respectively director of the second game and producer of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy) were invited to talk about the game as part of G-STAR 2024, an event organized in Korea. During this presentation, they confirmed that the writing of the script was officially finished and that concrete development had begun.

However, Yoshinori Kitase shared further details about the game’s gameplay. During an interview with Japanese media outlet 4Gamer, he revealed that the Hautvent, Cid’s aircraft unlocked in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth would have a decisive role in the third game of the saga. If it is still too early to know how the flight system will work, Naoki Hamaguchi wants to be reassuring. He declared that “ We will not cheat with the aircraft and its flight mechanics. It will be a tall order, but we will tackle it head on with the sole goal in mind that he can fly freely across the entire game map ».

If these declarations reassure fans of the original title, some questions remain unanswered. Will it be possible to fly across the entire world map? Will the Hautvent be able to land anywhere and move without loading time? How high can Cid’s ship fly? So many mysteries that will test the community’s patience until future revelations from the developers.
