Film debate. Two yellow benches to fight endometriosis

The colors of endometriosis come to the CGR cinema square. From Friday evening, you will find in front of the Colmar cinema two “EndoPank”, benches painted yellow and equipped with an information plaque with a QR code. This links to the website of Endofrance, a French association fighting endometriosis.

Make the disease known

Responsible for raising citizen awareness about this disease, the association is organizing a film debate this Friday open to health professionals and especially the general public, at the CGR cinema in Colmar. After the inauguration of these two benches at 6:30 p.m., participants will attend the free screening of a documentary film directed by actress Laëtitia Milot, herself suffering from endometriosis and godmother of Endofrance. The session will be followed by a discussion with health professionals, including Doctor Émilie Faller, gynecologist and endometriosis specialist.

“It’s an illness that cannot be seen, which is still quite taboo,” explains the specialist. The film debate will help raise people’s awareness of the disease and provide them with access to the right information. » If there are improvements in the discussions around this disease, according to her, the priority remains access to care. No cure has been found, but solutions exist to try to alleviate the symptoms, such as hormonal treatments or even complementary therapies. The problem: most treatments are not reimbursed. “It’s quite scandalous. Ultimately, this disease is a burden on the social life of those affected, but also professional and financial,” explains Émilie Faller.

By equipping itself with these two benches, Colmar is the first city in the Grand Est to participate in the EndoPank project. Created by an Italian association, their flashy color aims to arouse the curiosity of Colmarians passing by.
