Be careful if you are a breakdance fan. According to a recent Danish study, one of the most emblematic movements of this sport, the headspin, is the cause of many inconveniences. Concretely, the incriminated movement, which consists of turning on oneself while leaning on the head, could cause different types of nervous problems, including benign tumors. According to the elements reported, the disease is characterized by “hair loss, inflammation, numbness and sometimes the formation of a bump on the scalp.”

As reported in a case study, published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ), a man in his thirties was treated for a benign tumor that had grown to more than a centimeter thick. He had been practicing this sport for almost 20 years. His workout routine consisted of about five sessions per week, each lasting about 1.5 hours.

Fortunately for him, the operation went well.“It is now possible for me to go out in public without a cap, without a hat, which is of course very pleasant. I have a nice scar and my overall appearance has improved significantly. Many say they no longer notice that I have a bump and that my head seems completely normal”he declared while returning to the small physical stigmata: “I still have very thick skin on my head, which means I can have a slight elevation. My surgeon told me I could be referred to a plastic surgeon if I was dissatisfied”.
