The Reffye High School in Tarbes mobilized for Pink October: Beauty and Solidarity served the fight against breast cancer.
The Reffye High School in Tarbes experienced a day full of solidarity and commitment on the occasion of Pink October. This year, the establishment took advantage of the talents and know-how of its students and teachers in the Aesthetics and Hairdressing sections to organize a series of beauty services to benefit the fight against breast cancer. The event was held at the rural center of Ger (64).
Beauty and program support
For this 2024 edition of Pink October, Lycée Reffye has innovated by offering free aesthetic services for participants. On the program: makeup, hand care, hairdressing and raffle, carried out by the students, under the supervision of the BTS 2 and their teachers. This initiative raised public awareness of the cause of breast cancer screening while providing a moment of well-being and
conviviality.
A commitment at the heart of the community Reffye high school is not its first attempt in terms of solidarity. This commitment for Pink October is part of a desire to involve young people in civic and solidarity projects, while allowing them to develop practical skills in a caring environment.
By offering these beauty services, students bring a personal and human touch to the awareness campaign, making the cause more tangible for participants.
“It is important for us to support the fight against breast cancer while giving students the opportunity to get directly involved. This project strengthens the links between our high school and the local community, and allows young people to be useful in a concrete way,” declare the teachers responsible for teaching.
This day was a great success, the students collected more than €1000 in donations which will be donated to the league against cancer 64 and 65.
“We would like to thank the BTS 1 MECP students, the CAP Coiffure students as well as the first MVC professional baccalaureate (profession, commerce and sales option B) for their involvement which greatly contributed to the success of this event.”
The Lycée Reffye, located in Tarbes (65000), is recognized for its training in the beauty and care professions. With this initiative, it confirms its civic commitment while promoting the skills of its students in a supportive framework.
