Craving sugar? A nutritionist’s simple tip to avoid cravings and stay in shape

To limit sugar cravings, there are a whole bunch of little tips. Here is that of a nutritionist, and it is guaranteed without restriction.

We have all been victims of our sugar cravings. In the evening in front of the TV, or even in the afternoon when 4 p.m. strikes, we admit it: the call of the packet of cakes is very strong. We now know that there are many tips to avoid cravings, such as the anti-craving drink validated by Dr Jimmy Mohamed. But Elodie Colombel, a dietitian/nutritionist, just shared her method for fighting sugar cravings and it’s 100% frustration-free. On Instagram, the professional published a video where she gives ten habits to put in place to avoid breakdowns. The one that caught our attention? Have a regular snack! Yes, planning a snack in the afternoon allows you not to deprive yourself and avoid feeling hungry later. For a balanced and delicious snack, nothing could be simpler: opt for fresh fruit or compote without added sugar, a handful of almonds or other oilseeds, and top it all off with a square of dark chocolate. At stake ? A real feeling of satiety that lasts until the evening meal, all in a healthy way. A method tested and approved by the author of these lines.

In her video, Elodie Colombel shares many other anti-cravings tips. We find, for example, “doing sport regularly”, “having a good protein intake”, “working on stress” (a real trigger for our sugar cravings), “having pleasure at each meal” or even “playing with the volumes on his plate.” But that’s not all: the dietitian advises not to restrict yourself on a daily basis. Indeed, frustration causes the biggest breakdowns in the context of dietary rebalancing. Therefore, many nutritionists recommend allowing yourself one or two wild meals per week.

Finally, Elodie Colombel recommends not categorizing foods as “good” or “bad”. For what ? Quite simply because it harms our relationship with food. In addition, completely forbidding a dish can cause an obsession which will then lead to a breakdown. All foods have a place in our diet, as long as they are consumed in a healthy manner and in reasonable quantities. So, don’t hesitate to use these little tips the next time we have a sugar craving and make a balanced snack.
