Made in France, the Alysée chair was designed by two young people from Besançon (Doubs). It is currently presented at the Lépine competition in Paris. Lighter, more comfortable and practical, this innovative chair helps people with loss of autonomy to get up and sit down more easily.

Will Alyzée be voted best invention in France? ? Designed by two young people from Bison, this chair with four legs on wheels aims to help people who have difficulty getting up and sitting down. Since 1er May, Yannis and Clément have the chance to present it at the Lépine competition which is held in Paris until May 12, 2024.

Stand 28, aisle 4, two “ Alizée » are there, exposed. Many visitors linger there : “ It looks very good, many ask us for a quote and tell us that they will talk to their grandfather, their uncle, their aunt… »enthuses Yannis Ksantini, one of the founders.

Alyzée is a chair that provides valuable help to all those who have difficulty sitting: the elderly, those with disabilities, obesity, those subject to long-term illness, rehabilitation, etc. It thus allows them to maintain their autonomy by continuing to get up in complete safety and to fight against a sedentary lifestyle. It also aims to make the task of all family caregivers easier. “We have a mission to help our neighbor” advances Yannis Ksantini.

Alyzée is complementary to lift chairs which have been around for almost 50 years, but which are often heavy and bulky. Alyzée would be lighter and easier to handle thanks to its compact size. “I tested it out of curiosity” explains a visitor “and it’s very surprising, because with the remote control system, you’re quickly on your feet. It should still be a relief.” he continues. Another one is also interested “I’m ready to buy one for my mom. We have to take care of our elders, it’s important” confides the man.

The battery of this chair allows for five days of use on average. Also, lifting and sitting down are secured by activation of the brakes and an anti-fall coating. It can also be used as a walker, making it easier to move around. “It’s 100% made in France. All the metal is produced in Dijon and assembly in Rosny-sur-Seine » explains Yannis Ksantini.

When they were only 17 years old, Clément and Yannis were confronted with their grandparents’ loss of autonomy. Clément’s grandfather suffered from Parkinson’s and saw his physical health decline. His grandmother was damaging her health helping him get up and sit down all day long. When continuing like this was no longer possible, Clément’s family called on a home caregiver: Alyzée, hence the first name given to their invention.

The following year, they founded their startup Upper and in 2023, they won the Silver Eco’2023 Trophies.
