6 ways to protect your pets from parasites and insects
Descriptive text here

It’s not always easy to cure domestic animals when they are attacked by a parasite or insect. The simplest thing is prevention. Find out how to protect your pet from parasites and insects on a daily basis with simple actions.

“Prevention is better than cure”. Insects and parasites (ticks, fleas) cause itching in our pets, cats, dogs… even diseases. Prevention can help protect them but also some simple actions to adopt.

Internal dewormers and antiparasitics

Kitten, puppy, cat and dog must benefit from the administration of a dewormer or an antiparasitic. Deworming will be done differently depending on whether they are young (every 15 days for kittens and puppies aged 15 days to 2 months), young (once a month for young aged 2 to 6 months) or adults (1 to 2 times per year for those living in an apartment and 4 to 6 times for those with access to the outdoors). All animals are exposed to worms, whether they stay indoors or not. Different types of worms exist and each causes more or less serious problems in our pets.

Regular shampoo

More common in dogs than in cats, shampoo is also a good way to protect our animals. It comes in the form of powder, foam, etc. For cats, dry shampoos are particularly recommended, because many cats do not like water.

The shampoo protects animals from external parasites and allows the skin and coat to be well maintained. Carry out this operation when bathing or grooming.

Clean water bowls

Just like humans, animals need constant access to clean water. They have significant hydration needs, so it is essential to offer them the opportunity to drink fresh, clean water whenever they want. If you don’t have time to change the water regularly, you can invest in a fountain. Circulating water will stagnate less quickly than water in a bowl. This is a good tip to protect your pet on a daily basis.

Maintain your garden

The garden is the place of all the dangers for the companions in our homes. Fleas and ticks hide there waiting to find the ideal prey. In order to prevent possible attacks from these parasites, it is recommended to regularly cut the grass in your garden. This is because ticks live in tall grass and may therefore be likely to thrive in a garden that is not regularly mowed.

A clean interior

Dangers also develop inside. Mites and fungi are all invisible enemies that can proliferate inside our homes. In order to properly protect yourself, regular maintenance of your living space is essential. Cleaning of fabrics, carpets and floors must be carried out regularly in order to avoid the presence of spores or mites harmful to the health of our four-legged animals.

Avoid the presence of mosquitoes

The coat is a good protection against mosquito bites but it is not infallible. Mosquitoes can also carry diseases that they transmit by biting. To protect your pet, be sure to protect your habitat from mosquitoes by installing mosquito nets when possible or by having mosquito traps.
