For this last meeting of the FedEx Cup Fall season, Martin Trainer (photo) moves into the top 20 and remains in the running to retain his playing rights in 2025. He also condemned to the feat this week at the RSM Classic, Paul Barjon will have to give everything… to make the cut. Two Americans took the lead after eighteen holes, with the flamboyant Belgian Adrien Dumont de Chassart at the foot of the podium. Ludvig Åberg missed his return.
The two French people involved in the FedEx Cup Fall have their backs to the wall before RSM Classiclast event of the season PGA Tour. Beyond the top 125 of the FedEx Cup, Martin Trainer (157th) and Paul Barjon (179th) must shine in Georgia to retain their full playing right, or at least snatch a place in the top 150 to obtain partial right.

The native of Marseille got off to a good start in the event held on the popular island of Saint Simon. With a card of 69, Martin Trainer occupies twentieth place, five shots from the lead. It is still insufficient to reach the top 150 mark, but not so far from the podium which could allow him to snatch the top 125.
In this card race, the American Daniel Berger is the star with the worst start since his card of 71 (+1, 101st) puts him back even though he was only 127th in the FedEx Cup at the start.

Paul Barjon, on the other hand, missed his introduction. Still below par after twelve holes, the Bordeaux native raised in New Caledonia finished with a score of +2, beyond the hundredth place, already three shots from the provisional cut…
Un cut compromise pour Ludvig Åberg
Eleven players from the top 50 of the FedEx Cup made the trip to the RSM Classic to finish the season, in the wake of the Swede Ludvig Åbergdefending champion and fifth player in the world, who is making his comeback after meniscus surgery. The Scandinavian is only 135th (+3).
Members of the top 50 have nothing to gain or lose since their ranking is protected for next season. There are only two of them in the top 30. In this privileged situation, the Canadian Adam Hadwin is on the verge of the cut (-1) despite this helping hand from destiny with an eagle on the par 4 of hole number 16, while he was at +4 after three holes!
Dumont de Chassart at the foot of the podium
The Americans Maverick McNealy (62) et Michael Thompson (64) are leading the tournament at -8, while the first played on the Seaside Course and the second on the Plantation Course. The Belgian Adrien Dumont de Chassart is currently just in the top 125 of the FedEx Cup with his fourth place after the first round…
