In the H3 category for handbikeMathieu Bosredon finished in first place ahead of his compatriot Johan Quaile, completing an exceptional day with 11 medals for French paracycling.
Already European champion and vice-European champion, in the same order, in 2023, the French repeated their performance in front of their home crowd. This is their first Paralympic medal for both of them since Mathieu Bosredon was frustrated by his 4th place at the Rio Games in 2016, and Johan Quaile is a Paralympian for the first time.
On the roads of Clichy-sous-Bois, Mathieu Bosredon left no chance to his opponents. He set the best time from the first intermediate point and already had more than a minute’s lead over Johan Quaile at the halfway point. He finally completed the course in 43’33″22, two minutes ahead of his compatriot. The third, the Italian Martino Pini, finished more than 2 minutes and 40 seconds behind the winner.
