Chuck, Marie’s little chihuahua, disappeared without a trace in 2017. He was finally found at the end of last August in the Landes region, before being returned to his owner.

Seven years ago, Marie Torrente, who owned four dogs at the time, was away from home for a while while workers were working in her garden. When she returned, “Chuck had disappeared,” she told Nice-Matin.
Despite all the efforts made by Marie, who had at the time launched an appeal for witnesses in the Nice daily newspaper, the Mouginoise had not managed to find any trace of Chuck. A situation which had saddened her greatly, giving her in particular “dark thoughts for a long time”.
Care and a plane ticket
Then on August 26, Marie received a call she no longer believed. A veterinarian located in the Landes region informed her that Chuck was in her office. Unfortunately, Chuck was in poor health, without teeth and with eczema and fleas.
But his owner struggled to have the little chihuahua taken care of and repatriated to her. Treated by a veterinarian in Bordeaux thanks to the contact of a friend of Marie, Chuck finally made his return to the Côte d’Azur by plane this Monday, September 2.
Marie, who was hoping that her dog would recognize her after such a long separation, was delighted to see that the animal ran straight to her. The Maralpine assures our colleagues that the dog “felt confident, even if he is disturbed by all these changes.”
Now, Marie wants to enjoy her little companion and “recreate a bond with him”.
