This Wednesday, October 9, a municipal police officer was hit by a scooter rider in Échirolles, near Grenoble. The events took place at the Place des Cinq Fontaines around 2 p.m., after a refusal to comply.
The agent lost consciousness, according to the Isère police. He was then transported conscious by the firefighters to the Grenoble mutual clinic. He suffered from head trauma and pain in his knee and body. His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy. The perpetrator is still on the run and wanted by the police.
The mayor of Échirolles, Amandine Demore, reacted to this event through a press release and described this act as “of odious“. She evokes the context in this sector of the city, where the Carrare building, a recognized deal point, was evacuated at the end of September by the town hall. Security work must be carried out.
The mayor explains: “Incessant pressure is being exerted against drug trafficking in the town center of Échirolles with pedestrian patrols by the municipal police and daily actions to fight against trafficking with the national police.”
On September 26, four individuals aged 16 to 48 were arrested and a large quantity of cocaine and cannabis were seized. In recent weeks, Carrara has been the scene of multiple shootings and major police operations.
