A few weeks ago, Julien Arnaud left TF1 for France 2, to take control of Télématin with Flavie Flament. Since then, the front page has been looking for a journalist to replace him, and take over the joker role of Gilles Bouleau on “8 p.m.” on weekdays.
According to Le Parisien, the channel has chosen. It will be… Jean-Baptiste Boursier!
The LCI morning worker will take his first steps on October 21 during the All Saints’ Day holidays, at 8 p.m. on TF1.
“It’s a collective decision,” confides Thierry Thuillier, director of information at TF 1.
Our colleagues specify that TF1 gave 9 personalities from the editorial staff blank essays, for the “1 p.m.” and “8 p.m.” news. “We took this opportunity to take as broad an inventory as possible of the potential within the editorial team,” explains Thierry Thuillier to our colleagues, confirming that Jacques Legros and Audrey Crespo-Mara respectively remain the jokers of “1 p.m.” weekdays and weekend news.
Before confiding that Jean-Baptiste Boursier has “all the qualities to establish a link with the public of the TF 1 channel”, such as extensive experience in hosting a live news segment, an ability to adapt to the upheavals of current events, to conduct interviews or special events in the field. “It exudes great solidity and is reassuring for the public. He is also precise in his launches and we know that he will be able to integrate into the editorial team of TF 1 and highlight his work,” continues Thierry Thuillier.
