Jannik Sinner face Carlos Alcaraz in the final at “China Open“, ATP 500 tournament with a total prize money of 3,891,650 dollars staged on the hard courts of the Olympic Green Center in Beijing. The blue, number 1 in the world, has reached the final act beating the 22-year-old Chinese Yunchaokete Bu in two sets with the score 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Alcaraz, world number 3 and second seeding favourite, defeated the Russian in the other semi-final Daniil Medvedev with the score 7-5 6-3. “We know each other well, we will prepare and then we will see, I hope it will be a good match for both of us, of course I hope to win it“, declared Sinner in the press conference, playing in his 21st career final, the seventh of 2024. Up to now the Italian has won 16, with six successes out of the same number of final matches played this year.

Live Sinner-Alcaraz: the first set

6-5 Alcaraz: the Spaniard holds serve and comes back ahead. Now Sinner beats to go to the tie break.

5-5: Down 0-15, the South Tyrolean goes ahead 30-15 but then shoots on the net. A first winner and a very long forehand from his opponent allow him to even the score.

– BREAK SINNER, 5-4 Alcaraz: Sinner doesn’t give up an inch and from 30-15 to the opponent he raises the pace and receives with his feet inside the court, winning the break lost in the fourth game and serving to restore the balance.

– 5-3 Alcaraz: The 23 year old from San Candido doesn’t tremble, he climbs back up and gives himself another chance to keep the set alive.

– 5-2 Alcaraz: Serve to zero for Alcaraz who, also thanks to a forehand in the runner by Sinner, will now receive to take home the first set.

1-0 Alcaraz: The Spaniard holds serve and despite two backhand errors comes back from 15-30 and takes home the first game.

The precedents between Sinner and Alcaraz

In the previous nine between Sinner and Alcaraz the Spaniard has a slight advantage: five victories for him, four for Sinner. This year Alcaraz won twice: in the semi-final of Roland Garros in the fifth set and in the semifinal of Indian Wells to the third.
