Even today, at the village hall, with around fifty exhibitors and the presence of Damien Witecka, the voice of Leonardo DiCaprio, the Games of Geek festival will appeal to fans of manga, video games and pop culture, as was the case yesterday.
Yesterday, fans of video games, manga and pop culture crowded in front of the stands at the Rodez village hall. For its fifth edition, around fifty exhibitors are participating in Games of Geek. “This is the second year that we have had a stand. And we are very happy with this first day. Last year, Saturday morning was calmer”relates Sacha Lopez, bookseller at the Maison du livre de Rodez.
A nice crowd
For Thomas Lepretre, a fan of trade fairs, this is a first. Originally from Puy-en-Velay, he is the manager of Pokéworld France, specializing in the sale of Pokémon toys. “Since May, the shows have been flops. Our turnover has dropped by 40%. This Saturday is a pleasant surprise. I didn’t think there would be so many people. There are people who come from all over the place, it’s great.” Alain Schueller, manager of Lampes manga et geek and originally from Naucelles, took part in the second edition of Games of geek. “It’s a great development, it remains a family event.”
Games of Geek continues today, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On the program, a conference by Damien Witecka at 2 p.m., stands of illustrators, authors, traders, associations and various activities such as role playing, martial arts or airsoft.
