The summer transfer window definitively closed its doors on Friday August 30 at 11:00 p.m. in France and, as has become a habit, LOSC is showing a more than positive financial balance.

After two years under the direction of the Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, LOSC began its market with the arrival of a new technician. The latter is none other than Bruno Genesio, who has a record of two victories in three matches played in Ligue 1 as well as a qualification in the Champions League acquired with forceps since his arrival last June. This upheaval digested, it was then necessary to engage in a certain turnover in the Lille squad. In total, during the summer, more than twenty movements were recorded.

The first players to leave were the players at the end of their contracts. There are four of them who have followed this path with Yusuf Yazici, Adam Ounas, Adam Jakubech and Ivan Cavaleiro. These men have not yet found a place to land. As for sales, it is a rare phenomenon, but only one transfer of this kind has been made. This is obviously the significant sale of Leny Yoro (€62+8M) to Manchester United. The young defender, like Jonathan David who is finally re-signing for a fifth season in the North, had an exit voucher. Finally, LOSC has chained loans, whether for its youth or for its undesirables. The first named (Ichem Ferrah, Vincent Burlet, Trevis Dago, Ugo Raghouber, Haukur Haraldsson) were looking for playing time at a higher level and left to gain some, like Amine Messoussa and Joffrey Bazié who left as free agents for the youth team. As for the second, there are four of them with Andrej Ilic, Alan Virginius, Ignacio Miramon and Tiago Morais and they were loaned with an option to buy. Transactions from which the Dogues hope to recover a small sum.

In the opposite direction, LOSC has obviously not remained silent, recording 8 arrivals. Three are from paid transfers, with Matias Fernandez-Pardo (10+2M€), Osame Sahraoui (7.6+2M€) and Ngal’ayel Mukau (4+1M€), while the others (Ethan Mbappé, Thomas Meunier, Aïssa Mandi, Marc-Aurèle Caillard) arrived freely, without contractual constraints. Only Mitchel Bakker, from Atalanta Bergamo, set down his suitcases in the North in an operation carried out in the form of a loan.

With all these accumulated movements, the transfer balance is positive by 40 million euros, and this, without counting bonuses or potential exercise of purchase options. This amount is higher than the 8.1 million euros scraped at the end of the previous summer. This year 2023 was also the exception to the rule while LOSC has often, recently, been around 50 million in profit on this mercantile scene (79.5 million euros in 2022, 45 million in the summer of 2021, 44 million in the summer of 2020, 55 million in the summer of 2019 and 50 million in the summer of 2018).

So, while it is time to take stock following the closing of the transfer market, here is the complete table of summer movements for this 2024-2025 season.
