Alessandro Bastoni put in a second big performance with Italy last night, here are his words on Rai just after the victory against Israel: “It was very important to win again after the success against France which gave us incredible morale and made us feel strong collectively, we must continue on this path, because we want to forget the poor showing at the Euro. It was a cold shower that made us understand a lot of things, we missed our approach, but we take our responsibilities because we go on the pitch. It’s in the past and we want to move on.”
The Inter defender also spoke about his status within the team: “I have proven myself for a long time in the national team behind Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci and I am happy to take over from two sacred monsters. I try to pass on to others what they passed on to me.”
