One was Formula 2 champion in 2022. The other was vice-champion of the same championship the previous year. However, neither Felipe Drugovich nor Frederik Vesti saw the doors of Formula 1 open.

Abandoned by the premier category of motorsport, the two drivers turned to Endurance since last year. The Brazilian (24 years old) and the Dane (23 years old) rubbed shoulders on the track in the European Series, respectively at Vector Sport and COOL Racing. The two also had the opportunity to discover the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but not in the same category, since the Auriverde had switched to a Hypercar with Cadillac for the occasion.

It is with the American manufacturer that we find them this weekend to discover the 24 Hours of Daytona. Drugovich and Vesti will be behind the wheel of the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac alongside Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber.

« You have to get used to being four drivers with a limited number of laps, but I did some good laps and I feel very well prepared for my first race in GTP and my first race with Cadillac, which gives me very happysays Frederik Vesti, who took part in the WEC Rookie Test at the end of last year in Bahrain.

We worked a lot on the car, we took different directions to try to explore different things before the race. I think we know we have a very strong foundation with the Action Express Racing Cadillac, and now we just need to refine it and get ready for the race. Conditions could be different than what we experienced this weekend. So some adjustments will have to be made before the race, but it's the same for everyone. »

« The Cadillac car is a pleasure to driveajoute Drugovich. I think the track changes every time and there's not much you can see or predict from these tests. It's just about doing our job and trying to improve. I think in terms of riding, or at least from a rider's point of view, it's just about trying to enjoy the whole experience because it's the first time for me. It's a pleasure to drive here and drive the Cadillac with this team. »

The start of the 2025 24 Hours of Daytona will be given at 7:40 p.m. (French time) on Saturday.
