Formula 1 | Magnussen and Hülkenberg hail Komatsu's 'strong vision'

Kevin Magnussen praised the work done by Ayao Komatsu in his first season at the helm of Haas . The Danish driver believes the American team is moving in the right direction since the Japanese replaced Günther Steiner as director.

“I think Komatsu has some smart ideas about where the team should go and how to get there” said Magnussen, not retained by Komatsu at Haas F1.

“I think his vision is strong. He's an intelligent man.”

“He knows the sport very well, he sees the opportunities. There are things he will learn and things he will improve, but I think since he arrived the team is going in the right direction. direction.”

Nico Hülkenberg, who left for Sauber/Audi F1, was also impressed by the way his former boss quickly adapted to his new position.

“I think it was only after the end of last year that we were able to come in with big expectations and big goals.”

“Because that would have been stupid and not realistic either. But I think Komatsu had to digest and learn very quickly at the beginning of the year and even now, but I think he's doing a very good job. It's a very direct man.”

“He just tells you what he thinks and I've enjoyed working with him this year as TP and a lot of the success we've had now developing the car and growing as a team is down to to his style and management.”
