5 audio guides to discover the villages of the region

At the FroissCrèvecœur rural social center, retirees have been working for 4 years to create audio guides to help people discover the riches of the region.

“Walk around your village” became “Let’s discover our villages”. A name which further evokes the purpose of the group which works on the subject within the Froissy-Crèvecœur rural social center.

This core group of retirees began creating audio guides in the region's municipalities in 2020. Knowing that it takes one year per audio guide, and that the territory has 38, the task is not ready to be completed!.

Four towns scrutinized for audio guides

So far, four localities have been scrutinized: Crèvecœur-le-Grand, Froissy, -Saint-Lucien and Hardivillers.

Each time, the work is meticulous because it is a question of not missing anything but also of making the discovery fluid for those who borrow the audio guide. An audio guide accessible on smartphone via the “Izi travel” application.

Currently, volunteers are “finishing” the five existing audio guides.

The circuit always starts from one place “ closest to a parking lot for the visitor”.
Then, each street is explored, its attractions noted, supplemented by documentary and historical research which nourishes the story. “We have representatives in each village” notes Michaël Meulin, from the Social Center.

The most complicated thing remains to guide the walker well, to put yourself in their place. “We must not forget, for example, to say “go left”, go right”, “straight”“. Everything is geolocatable.

Each ride lasts one hour

Each walk lasts one hour. Two audio guides are available for Crèvecœur-le-Grand which contains many interesting places and anecdotes (the castle, the church, the house of a photographer, the pearl factory, the La Rochefoucauld pavilion, etc.).

The texts must be succinct but sufficiently explanatory” further notes Joël Claeys, one of the pillars of “Discover our villages”.

Once the volunteers have reviewed and corrected everything, the audio guides will be offered to the tourist offices.
