The 2024 F1 season marked the end of Lewis Hamilton’s adventure at Mercedes. The seven-time world champion will play alongside Charles Leclerc at Ferrari. The Briton will bring all his experience to the Scuderia. The Italian team, however, gave him a first challenge to take on for next season.
After 12 years of collaboration, Lewis Hamilton ended his adventure at Mercedes at the end of this 2024 season of F1. The seven-time world champion will race at the wheel of a Ferrari in 2025. The almost 40-year-old pilot will support Charles Leclerc and will bring all his experience within the Scuderia. Some nevertheless fear a fiasco for the Briton at the Italian team. But Frederic Vasseur wanted to be rather reassuring about Lewis Hamilton.
“I’m not worried”
« Lewis will only have six weeks at his disposal, from the beginning of January until the car presentation, but he is a driver with a lot of experience at his disposal and for that reason I am not worried. Today, pilots have the enormous advantage of the simulator. He will be able to do a racing simulation and a qualifying simulation in the simulator and be fully prepared with the steering wheel and all the particularities of the car. But I’m not worried about it and it’s not the biggest challenge » first explained the boss of Ferrari in comments reported by NextGen-Auto.
“A sandstorm” in Bahrain to weigh down Hamilton?
Frederic Vasseur then took the liberty of launching a first challenge to Lewis Hamilton. « The challenge is, if you imagine we go to Bahrain and we have a sandstorm like a few years ago, then it’s difficult, but it’s difficult for everyone on the grid. We know we only have three days of testing there. It’s like this » confided the Frenchman. Ferrari obviously expects a lot of Lewis Hamilton for next season. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to rise to the occasion.
