The two Leclerc brothers could be at the wheel of the two Ferraris for Friday's free practice at the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP.
The Maranello team had initially planned to field reserve driver Oliver Bearman, but its three substitutions made this year (once Sainz and twice Magnussen) no longer allow it to benefit from the free practice rules for beginners.
Ferrari is therefore considering putting Arthur Leclerc in Carlos Sainz's car.
Arthur, 24, is the younger brother of Ferrari regular Charles Leclerc and has signed with the Italian brand's driver development academy.
The younger Leclerc has extensive knowledge of Ferrari's current F1, as he works in the simulator and prepares the settings for his brother and Sainz. It was also used for Pirelli tire testing.
“Seeing them on the track together, even if only for an hour, would be a gift for their mother Pascale, who has always supported them both,” souligne the Corriere della Sera.
