With a seat in sight and recognized talent, Isack Hadjar seems ready to seize any opportunity that presents itself for 2025.
As speculation around the Red Bull line-up for 2025 intensifies, Isack Hadjar remains hopeful of landing a seat in Formula 1.
The Frenchman, currently in Formula 2, is well aware that the decisions of the Austrian team could work in his favor.
Uncertainty at Red Bull opens up opportunities
Sergio Pérez's disappointing performances fuel rumors of a major change within Red Bull Racing. Several names are circulating to replace the Mexican driver, including Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda and even the young Franco Colapinto. If Pérez were to lose his seat, a reshuffle in the Racing Bulls junior team could allow Isack Hadjar to access F1.
For Hadjar, this scenario is far from improbable: “I would say I have a chance, at least. It doesn't depend on me, of course. A lot of things are happening at Red Bull, and anything can happen. But I'm next in line, it's a done. I hope to be ready if the opportunity presents itself next year.”
A promising generation of drivers
Recent F1 debuts of young talents, such as Franco Colapinto at Williams, boost Hadjar's confidence. As Colapinto's opponent in Formula 2, he believes this new wave of drivers has proven his worth.
“This shows that our generation is very competenthe says. For a while, experience seemed everything in F1. It was thought that a young person could not compete with a driver with ten years of experience. But actually, if you're quick, that's enough. The performances of drivers like Liam Lawson and Ollie Bearman are proof of that.”
However, Hadjar remains realistic: “My experience in F1 is limited to three FP1 sessions. The running plans are always restricted, which complicates the task. This would make my transition more difficult than that of some young people who have already had more time behind the wheel. “
A crucial end to the season in F2
Currently fighting for the Formula 2 title, Isack Hadjar is focusing on the last two rounds of the season. Just 4.5 points behind leader Gabriel Bortoleto, recently confirmed at Sauber for 2025, the Frenchman hopes to end the year in style. A victory in F2 could solidify his case with Red Bull and boost his chances of joining the F1 grid next year.
With a seat in sight and a recognized talent, Isack Hadjar seems ready to seize any opportunity that presents itself for the 2025 F1 season.
