Formula 1 | Alpine : Gasly is 'happy' despite a 'difficult' Sprint

Pierre Gasly finished seventh in the Interlagos Sprint in Brazil, and the Alpine resident was very happy with this result which brings two more points to his team. He is particularly pleased to have been faster in the peloton and to have resisted Sergio Pérez.

“It was a good race, it was very difficult but I am very happy. We started seventh, we managed to finish seventh, we managed to keep Pérez behind until the end even if it was close” declared the French pilot.

Alpine therefore comes back to one point behind Williams, and Gasly hopes to continue its good series of top 10s in qualifying later, then score points in the race, but he explains that Alpine will have to find solutions to limit the degradation.

“We manage to be the best team after the leading teams in the peloton. It was difficult in terms of tires, there are things to improve for tomorrow because we were degrading a lot and it was difficult to manage, so there are has better things to do.”
