In an interview broadcast on Zack Nani’s Twitch then on his Youtube account, Florian Thauvin looked back on several periods of his career, notably his long stint at Olympique de Marseille (2013-2015 then 2016-2021). The 2018 world champion spoke about his different relationships with the now president of the LFP, Vincent Labrune, but also his former captain, Dimitri Payet.
“He behaved badly towards me. When I arrived at OM, there was a problem at the start between Payet and Valbuena and the problem came back to me. The two didn’t get along, they wanted to be number 10, they didn’t pass to each other and, at one point, they didn’t pass to me anymore. When I realized that, I said: ”I respect you guys but, at some point, I’m also going to impose myself so if you don’t want to make passes at me, I won’t make you of passes”. » declares the former Tigres player in Mexico. After an attempt by José Anigo to defuse the situation, another disagreement broke out between the two players, which put an end to their relationship.
