Richard Mille and McLaren, the winning formula

Lhe British manufacturer McLaren is not doing half measures with its new supercar, heir to the legendary McLaren (1992) and P1 (2013). A concentrate of technology inspired by Formula 1, where the brand shines with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the W1 boasts 12 patent filings and is proud to reach 200 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

Not content with lapping three seconds faster than a Senna on a circuit, the W1 is the most capable road-going McLaren of all time, with a top speed electronically limited to 350 km/h. Translating this feat into watchmaking, without diluting the theatricality of the object, was a major challenge for Richard Mille, partner of the manufacturer since 2016.

Revolutionary material

The RM 65-01 McLaren W1 borrows from the supercar by taking up its spectacular aesthetic codes, while being robust enough for everyday use. It perfectly embodies the philosophy of McLaren, which designs road cars with performance worthy of racing models.

Like its equivalent on four wheels, whose bodywork protects the engine and occupants, the structure of the watch case envelops and preserves its complex movement, while showcasing a cutting-edge material prized by both brands: carbon.
