In an interview given to FranceBlue on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the new Orange Vélodrome, Dimitri Payet revealed that his former teammate with the Blues Antoine Griezmann would like to play for OM.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the new Orange Vélodrome this Wednesday, Dimitri Payet spoke to the microphone of FranceBlue to look back on his different memories in this unique stadium. An interview during which the former OM captain revealed the attachment of his teammate and friend in the French team Antoine Griezmann to Olympique de Marseille.
“Difficult to hear your teammates”, “sometimes I felt like the lawn was moving”Dimitri Payet was rave about the atmosphere at the Vélodrome, and the player from the Brazilian club Vasco de Gama is obviously not the only one to love this atmosphere according to him.
“Many people cannot come to Marseille. Because it’s Marseille and they are in clubs, we’ll say, more upscale, but who would dream of playing in this Vélodrome. And who loved it. The first person that comes to mind is Grizou (Antoine Griezmann). Grizou, he always said that he wanted to play for OM, that the Vélodrome was for him… And every time we went there with the selection, he was the happiest”.
Although he recently announced his international retirement, Antoine Griezmann is not stopping football and could perhaps end his career with the Marseille club after the end of his contract with Atletico Madrid.
