The Japanese manufacturer provided some details after announcing a technical partnership with the Haas team.

Haas F1 and Toyota officially announced their multi-year union on Friday through a brand new technical partnership. The two entities will share their knowledge and resources. An announcement which inevitably gave rise to rumors concerning a possible return of the brand to Formula 1 as an engine manufacturer.

But Toyota immediately denied the matter. “We do not currently intend to engage in the supply of a power unit,” explained to Motorsport Masaya Kaji, general director of sports engineering at Toyota Gazoo Racing, the competition branch of the manufacturer which notably takes care of the Endurance program.

«We have no intention of having a team in F1. Currently, we have the best choice and the best option in working with Haas,” the leader repeated. Toyota left F1 in 2007 after competing in eight seasons, covering 139 grands prix and achieving 13 podiums.
