A 10-year contract worth 1.4 billion euros

Barça’s new contract with Nike should bring in 140 million euros annually, if not more, for the Catalan club.

FC Barcelona and Nike appear to have found common ground on a new technical sponsorship deal, after months of intense negotiations. According to information from the Spanish daily Markthe two parties are reportedly on the verge of finalizing an agreement lasting 10 years, for a total amount of around 1.4 billion euros.

€140 million per year from Nike for the benefit of FC Barcelona

This new partnership would represent a considerable financial windfall for the Catalan club, with an annual payment estimated at 140 million euros. A signing bonus, the exact amount of which remains to be confirmed but which could reach 150 million euros, would be added to this sum. Currently, the collaboration of the club and the American equipment manufacturer brings the equivalent of 105 million euros annually to the Blaugrana.

For Barça, this agreement comes at the right time. The club, which recorded a loss of 91 million euros for the 2023-2024 season, could thus benefit from a breath of financial oxygen. This injection of funds would notably allow the club to comply with the financial fair play rules imposed by La Liga, which require a balance between expenses and revenues.

A breath of fresh air for Barça’s finances

President Joan Laporta hopes to formalize this agreement before the Members’ Assembly scheduled for October 19, which could ease tensions around the club’s financial situation. If the final details are resolved on time, this renewed collaboration between FC Barcelona and Nike could mark a turning point in the economic history of the Blaugrana club.
