Une paire de tout neuf LEGO Technique Formula 1 cars are rumoured to be racing on to the starting grid in 2025, one of which marks Red Bull’s theme debut.
The year of Formula 1 is already said to encompass at least 10 LEGO Speed Champions ensembleset Cliqueur de briques now reports that it will also extend to two LEGO Technique sets in March. 42206 Red Bull F1 Car and 42207 Ferrari F1 Car are rumoured to be coming in at roughly the same size and budget as this year’s 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performances.
That means we’re likely looking at a pair of 1:8-scale cars, presumably decked out in the 2024 liveries of each of these teams’ Formula 1 racers. And while we’ve had plenty of Ferrari F1 cars in the Technique family of elements before (although branded under the LEGO Racers banner in the mid-‘00s), this would be the first Red Bull LEGO Technique car full stop.
42207 Ferrari F1 Car is rumoured to come in at 1,362 pieces for $239.99, while 42206 Red Bull F1 Car is said to include 1,639 pieces for $239.99. For reference, 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performances consists of 1,642 pieces and retails for $219.99. A $20 bump in price is unfortunate, especially when twinned with the Ferrari’s smaller piece count, but the finer details of these rumoured sets are yet to be confirmed.
As is their existence at all, really – we’ll have to wait for official announcements from the LEGO Group for that. For now, take a look at the current LEGO Technique 2025 slate in the table below.
