After the success of Lucinda Brand on the women's race of the penultimate round of the Super prestigein Gullegem, it was time to Wout Van Aert (Visma | Lease a Bike). A large group of 9 riders broke away from the first lap including Wout Van Aert, Laurens Sweeck (Crelan-Corendon), Eli Iserbyt, Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels Sauzen – Cibel Clémentines) or the French Clement Venturini (Arkea – B&B Hotels). Only the leader of the general classification, Niels Vandeputte (Alpecin-Deceuninck), missing. The runners remain grouped while Niels Vandeputte comes back little by little. In the 4th round, Van Aert moves into the lead and begins to accelerate.
Van Aert isolates himself in the lead with Vanthouren wood. Van Aert finally raises his arms alone, Izerbyt et Vanthouren wood completes the podium. Niels Vandeputte held on well and took fifth place.
