The German runner Maurice Ballerstedt announced on his Instagram account that he will now participate in gravel and criterium races starting in the 2025 season. In the last two seasons, Ballerstedt ran for the Belgian team Alpecin-Deceuninck. He notably participated in the Vuelta and to theUAE Tour in 2023, with a best result of 6th place on the 19th stage of the Spanish Grand Tour. Last year, he again participated in The Return as well as Paris-Nice. His best result was a 2nd place in the Tour of Limburgbehind Dylan Groenewegen but in front Arnaud De Lie.

On his Instagram account, he announced the news in a brief press release: “Hi, I'm Maurice Ballerstedt and I've been a professional cyclist for the past few years. In 2025 I wanted to change things up and compete in gravel and criterium races on my own, with my own partners and sponsors. So, follow me on this adventure and let’s have fun together!”he concludes.
