It was at the end of a long investigation, carried out for almost 10 months, that a report established that the three men had ” probably ” were killed by what is described as ” by-product ” from an air strike ofIsrael in the band of Gaza. The exact cause of their death is still unknown. There is no certainty but an estimate of ” high probability “, the report further explains.
According to the document, it turns out that the Israeli air force carried out a strike in November 2023, not far from where the bodies were found. A raid that targeted the commander of Hamas’s North Gaza Brigade, Ahmed Ghandour, who was hiding in a tunnel in Jabaliya.
In addition to this strike which cost the lives of Elia Toledano, Ron Sherman and Nik Beizer a month later, Israeli soldiers killed three hostages who had managed to escape the vigilance of their guards, while they were trying to reach the Israeli lines.
