On social networks, a video in which Kanye West appears to produce an unreleased song is causing a buzz. In these images, we can hear a sample of the title Sun, sun of Apple. The French singer expressed her disagreement.

The singer Pomme, a little darling of French pop with a unique style, attracted the attention of Kanye West. The one who ended the year 2024 at the top of the international rankings with her title My Best Enemyin a duet with Stromae, saw another of his tracks being sampled by the famous and controversial rapper.
In recent days, a video of Kanye West has been making the rounds on social networks. While he is in the process of finalizing his next album, entitled Bullywe see him dancing to an extract from Sun, suna song by Pomme released in 2019 on his album The Rifts.
The song is not just a simple extract, but a sample, since we then hear a beat and the rapper’s voice placed over it. As of January 6, the video had already been viewed 1.4 million times.
Except that the main interested party never gave her authorization for the use of her title. The singer reacted with a comment on Instagram, expressing her disbelief:
“I do not know the source of the video and audio content circulating these days on social networks, but I never gave my consent for the use of this sample for reasons that seem obvious to me, being deeply disagreement with the political positions of this artist whom I have greatly admired in the past.”

This is not the first time that Kanye West has used songs from other artists’ discographies in an unauthorized manner. On the album VULTURESreleased in 2024, several samples have caused scandals and legal proceedings, such as I Feel Love by Donna Summer on Good (Don’t Die) or even Machine Gun by the band Portishead on the track Field Trip.
