Algerian influencer Zazou Youcef was arrested this Friday morning in after inciting attacks in . Followed by several hundred thousand people on social networks, he had recently published videos on TikTok in which he called for “ hit France », with violent and threatening remarks. Among his statements, he repeated phrases such as “ kill yourself » et « we are going to rape you », Messages inciting violence which were quickly reported to the authorities. These videos, which he has since deleted, caused great concern and a rapid reaction from law enforcement.

In an irregular situation in France, Zazou Youcef was also subject to an Obligation to leave French territory (OQTF), according to a police source for Europe 1 an element which had reinforced the vigilance of the police services towards him. The hunt had intensified in recent days, and his arrest was carried out by the BRI (Research and Intervention Brigade) of -Atlantique, with the support of the RAID, as part of a security operation.

Following this arrest, Bruno Retailleau, Minister of the Interior, expressed his gratitude to the police and magistrates for their responsiveness and efficiency, emphasizing the importance of putting an end to speech inciting violence, particularly those broadcast on social networks.
