“How to look 65 at 16,” this former child star responds to haters who criticize her appearance

“Women are growing up!!”Millie Bobby Brown recently exclaimed in her Instagram story in response to the many comments insulting her appearance in several photos of her.

The one we should soon find in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, on Netflix, is determined not to let herself face criticism and she is right. On December 30, the actress posted several photos of herself wearing a Louis Vuitton bag from the Murakami collection, which is making a comeback in 2025.

“She skipped her twenties and went straight to her forties”

Quickly, comments began to flourish under the post, some of which were particularly malicious and commenting on Millie Bobby Brown’s appearance, criticizing her for looking much older than her age: “What happened to her face?”, “42 years old”, “She skipped her twenties and went straight to her forties”, “Millie’s Google search: ‘How to look like you’re 65 years to 16 years’”.

Some even go so far as to comment on her weight and predict that she will soon announce her pregnancy: “Millie looks like she’s gained a few pounds, I think the pregnancy announcement is coming soon.”

Faced with these criticisms, Millie Bobby Brown then saw fit to remind everyone that: “Women are growing up!! I’m not sorry about that.” Because yes, the twelve-year-old girl we met in the first season of Stranger Things has grown up. The one who will be 21 next February obviously no longer has the body or the same face as when she became known worldwide and that’s normal.

Millie Bobby Brown, a regular victim of cyberbullying

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the actress has had to deal with problematic comments. In 2020, Millie Bobby Brown wrote on the post where she celebrated her sixteenth birthday: “There are times when I get frustrated with the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization and unnecessary insults that ultimately lead to a lot of pain and insecurities for me.”

Last September, a video, in which she presented the products from the latest collection of her brand Florence by Mills, posted on her Instagram account saw the rise of numerous degrading and sexualizing remarks about the young woman. Disgusting.

So rather than criticizing or trying to find out if Millie Bobby Brown is going to announce a pregnancy soon, we should all focus on this other comment: “Can we please normalize NOT commenting on someone else’s appearance?” A great resolution to keep in mind for this new year!
