A year of abstinence? Like many stars, Rihanna celebrated the new year on her networks. The opportunity for the 36-year-old singer to reveal her 2025 resolution. And she seems to want to commit to a new lifestyle.
While many people will begin their “Dry January” (month without alcohol), the artist suggested that she wanted to stay sober for the next twelve months of the year.
“New year, new me”, posted the interpreter of “Diamonds” in a publication shared this morning on Instagram, alongside a video in which we see the mother surrounded by friends, starting the countdown before the start of the new year.
A sequence that she continues by launching a traditional “Happy New Year”, before announcing her commitments for the months to come. “I won’t drink all year,” the partner of rapper A$AP Rocky assured twice, with whom she shares two boys: RZA, born in 2022, and Riot Rose, born in 2023.
It remains to be seen whether the singer will take advantage of this new year to move forward on a new album. Last April, the star, who has not released an opus since “Anti” in 2016, announced that she was returning to the studio to work on her ninth album. In the meantime, her fans will still be able to find new songs composed and recorded by the star for the soundtrack of the animated film “The Smurfs”, expected in French theaters on July 16, 2025, in which Rihanna lends her voice to Smurfette .
