In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, you now most likely know that Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge made his comeback to the media world via a Meubles RD advertisement.
It all started last Thursday, December 26, when Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge made a first publication in a very long time on his Instagram account when he mentioned being back on a film set for a very long time.
He also mentioned that it made him very nervous to be there. In case you missed this video, here it is:
We did not know at the time of publication of the publication of the video on Instagram for what purpose Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge was on a film set, but the answer did not take very long.
Indeed, the next day, Friday December 27, we learned that Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge was there to film an ad for Meubles RD.
Originally, the ad was to be broadcast during the very popular program Bye Bye, but - refused to broadcast the ad for fear that the Crown Corporation would find itself at the center of a controversy. For their part, TVA and Noovo will broadcast the advertising. Speaking of this one, if you haven’t seen it yet, here it is:
The advertising had greatly provoked a large number of Quebecers and names such as David Jalbert and Éric Duhaime even took to social networks to show their support for Meubles RD. However, in the last few hours, Éric Duhaime has even taken it a little further than a simple publication on social networks.
Indeed, he who had first of all made a simple publication on social networks mentioning:
“We already know the ad of the year…
Bravo to Guillaume for his humor and humility!
Shame on woke - which, with its detestable cancel culture, refuses to broadcast it”
He returned to the charge the next day when - spoke with the Journal de Montréal to explain its decision:
“Because “she FEARS of causing controversy”, - MAKES SURE to create controversy by refusing to broadcast an ad by Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge…
An ideological bias unworthy of a state society. »
Then, just yesterday, Éric Duhaime shared a sales contract from Meubles RD where he had just ordered $6,000 worth of furniture while he mentioned:
“I have been neglecting to change my appliances at the end of their life for a while.
Today, I decided to combine business with pleasure by encouraging a company that does not engage in cancel culture. »
However, his gesture did not receive only good comments while comments on social networks are of divided opinions.
As you can see on the invoice, Éric Duhaime literally ordered every possible appliance for his house.
