DonaldDonald Trump returns to the White House on January 20, 2025. A supremacist, masculinist, far-right president who denies climate change. And who has made disinformation, linguistic violence and lies his political fuel.
In his luggage: the libertarian Elon Musk, boss of X, Starlink satellites and Tesla…, the richest man in the world and in history, who campaigned for Trump, including on his social network.
This American election has relaunched the global discussion on the way in which we are informed or manipulated, at a time of the omnipotence of social networks and their algorithms. While information fatigue is gaining on us, faced with immediacy, the difficulty of distinguishing false from true and the extreme right-wing of social networks and the media must question us.
In this chaotic context, how can we resist? How can we fight against extreme right-wing, but also against the concentration of the media that we also see in France?
Isn’t it time to leave the information dump that X has become? Carine Fouteau, president of Mediapart, explains why our newspaper will leave the social network on January 20.
A program prepared and presented by Mathieu Magnaudeix.
