Albert II goes into champion mode: shooting range, basketball, football… The prince as you have never seen him

On June 22, 2024, Prince Albert visited the Sports Festival at Port Hercule to celebrate the festivities as part of the centenary of AS Monaco Omnisports. On the program? 23 sections of AS Monaco Omnisports, including the football section whose presence was marked by the Kids Tour caravan. We could thus find many athletes from various fields such as weightlifting, handball, athletics, diving, or even table tennis.

For the occasion, Prince Albert even rolled up his sleeves to show off his shooting skills. He also played basketball and football with the teams present, a great way to show that His Serene Highness knows how to get his jersey wet when necessary!

For me, AS Monaco is diversity and excellence. From football to swimming, bobsleigh, aikido, e-sport, table tennis, there may be two others that will appear this year on the occasion of the centenary. It (the association) promotes the values that are dear to us, the universal values of sport, which are close to the values of Olympism: solidarity, friendship, fair play, respect for the rules. We cannot forget the extraordinary results of our football team, but of course there have been other great results, like those of the athletes Téo Andant, Lisa Pou and many others. I am also touched by the very good results of our young people in water polo, of our girls in volleyball” confided the Prince to the microphone of Monaco Info.

A very sporty day for Albert

Very happy to have participated in this experience, he added: “I believe that there is a truly formidable dynamic that we must take advantage of to try to make our colours shine. It is with great hope that we celebrate this centenary of the ASM and that we look towards the next hundred years.” Speaking of making the colours shine, he was recently alongside his wife Charlene to present, as lovers matching the colours of Monaco, the athletes from the Rock who will soon be taking part in the Olympic Games.

Also on June 22, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Princess Charlene, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella also attended the South Africa match (which won the match) during the rugby 7s qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympic Games at the Stade Louis II in Monaco. A very busy day for the royal couple.
