Lou Doillon, an all-round artist, is known for her career in music, cinema and fashion but if there is one role she cherishes more than anything, it is that of mother. The daughter of Jane Birkin and director Jacques Doillon gave birth twice. It was firstly at only 19 years old thatshe gave birth to her son Marlowe in 2002. This early motherhood had a profound impact on her personal and professional life since she mentioned in numerous interviews that becoming a mother at such a young age forced her to mature quickly and review her priorities. Motherhood prompted the artist to seek a balance between her artistic career and her role as a mother, a first experience that pushed her to become a mother again. In 2022, Lou Doillon expanded her family with her partner Stéphane Manel by welcoming her second child, a little boy named Laszlo.
Last July, she confided in Lou Average on how Jane Birkin influenced her role as a mother. “She had the strange idea that it was quite sexy to be a mother, and so she took us everywhere. At work, in dressing rooms, in things…”, sshe remembered. An image that influenced her and continues to live within her. The mother of two children is very active on her Instagram account, and posted this Friday, November 22, magnificent live photos of her isolated house in the countryside. On these last ones posted in his story, we can see her with her little boy and his partner in a setting worthy of a Christmas movie. Lou Doillon, well covered, then published a few videos on which we could admire the trees and benches covered in snow. The model, however, had not found any gloves to wear to protect herself from the cold and chose to opt for… an oven glove! A way to show her nonchalance and live life as she feels.
Lou Doillon and his life in the countryside
In an interview with Madame Figaroshe had already talked about her beautiful home. “I live partly in the countryside, where I have compost, a vegetable garden, a rainwater reserve and photovoltaic panels. It's the least we can do to recycle, to no longer buy plastic bottles… To make ordinary efforts, in short”she emphasized. At Lou Doillon, the taste for vintage is pronounced since many things seem to be found at flea markets but not only in terms of decoration! On the fashion side, she confided her pleasure of wearing pieces that have lived experience: “There are family transmissions: clothes from my family, from my mother, from my father, from my sisters, from my grandfather's coats. I like to wear pieces that have past lives.”
