If Emilien, the young master of the midday masters, at the head of a prize pool climbing to more than a million euros, once again emerged as the winner of this new round, for the 277th time, Jean-Luc Reichmann seemed to be on another planet. Very moved for the fourteenth anniversary of “12 coups de midi”, the host first welcomed the viewers with a touching speech. “It was my dad’s birthday when we started, so I’m very happy and very proud” he declared. A few minutes later, Jean-Luc Reichmann led the different phases of the game against the candidates who came to challenge Emilien: Pauline, Rosemonde and Alexandre.

And it was the latter, a Paris firefighter, who found himself in the final. The opportunity for him to pay tribute to Jean-Luc Reichmann: “You are a daily meeting for all the firefighters I know. The show that we all watch, at lunchtime, when we have lunch while waiting for interventions . You are a bit of a firefighter too, with us, every day.” Words that touched the host’s heart: “I’m going to make an intimate confession to you, here in front of everyone, but yes, Alexandre: I love firefighters!” Whereupon he continued with the resumption of the game. But when he asked Emilien a question, Jean-Luc Reichmann suddenly burst into laughter! “Excuse me, excuse me! I don’t know why I laughed” he chuckled. Then, throughout the face-to-face between Emilien and Alexandre, the host increased the frantic encouragement to the two candidates, such as “Pull yourself together”, “Don’t lose concentration!”, “Alex, don’t give up , firefighters never let go of the ramp!”

Little phrases perceived by Internet users as destabilizing for the candidates of “12 coups de midi”. Even more: on X, in general, Jean-Luc Reichmann’s attitude has greatly annoyed many fans of the show. For them, the host would have “overdone it” a little, while others do not understand the object of his laughter…
