On Friday, June 28, Will Smith released his brand new song titled You Can Make It and is riding the wave of the Bad Boys : Ride or Diethe fourth part of the saga released on June 5 in which the 55-year-old actor stars.

A song which evokes, among other things, the incident which opposed him to comedian Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars ceremony: “They tried to bleed Will Smith / Looking back, I see the hardships as a gift”he raps.

On Instagram, the actor confides: “When I felt the worst in my life, music was always there to help me get better and grow. I hope that it gives you the same joy and lightness as it does for me.”.

You Can Make It was produced in collaboration with the Sunday Service choir, who worked on the disc Jesus Is King by Kanye West, and the singer Fridayy. Will Smith announced on X that he will perform the song this Sunday, June 30, during the BET Awards which reward artists from the African-American community.

This is the first time since his altercation with Chris Rock that the comedian and singer will return to the stage.

Discreet since the slap incident, he apologized to Chris Rock and resigned from the Academy of Oscars.

Since this summer, he has started to make his comeback. He was notably invited in April by J. Balvin to perform at Coachella. Together, they performed Men In Blacka hit from the soundtrack of the 1997 blockbuster that helped make him famous.
