Actor Martin Mull, who starred in sitcoms Sabrina, the Teenage Witch et Roseanne, died Thursday June 27 at the age of 80. His daughter Maggie Mull announced the sad news on her Instagram account. “It is with a broken heart that I announce the death of my father at home on June 27, after a valiant battle against a long illness.she said in a statement, adding that he “excelled in all artistic fields.”

Martin Mull first came to public attention in the late 1970s with the sitcom Mary Hartman, Mary Hartmana soap opera parody, and its spin-off Fernwood 2 Nighttwo audience successes on American television.

He was the authoritarian teacher in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch

A former country music composer, he then played sitcoms of the time, such as Arrested Developpement. This native of Chicago (United States) finally landed the role of Roseanne’s boss in the eponymous series. But this is his incarnation of the authoritarian principal in the series Sabrina, the apprentice witch at the end of the 1990s which allowed him to gain notoriety.

Melissa Joan Hart, her sidekick in the series, the Teenage Witch, spoke out on social networks. “Rest in peace my friend. The incredible Martin Mull (Principal Kraft) has left us to his eternal rest. I have such fond memories of working with him and being in awe of his tremendous body of work.”she notably shared.

On the big screen, Martin Mull played Colonel Mustard in the film version of Cluedo released in 1985. Also a painter in his spare time, he landed a role in the successful comedy Madame Doubtfire alongside Robin Williams.
