The actress seems to have found her balance… On August 28, 2023, Virginie Efira gave birth to her second child, Hiro, at the age of 46. This pregnancy was very different from the first. Thursday June 27, 2024, for Marie Claire, the star explained: “It’s extremely different, because we’re not
not in the same place of self-understandingin relation to the world, it’s not the same father (the father of his daughter, Ali, is the director Mabrouk El Mechri)… The first time, we ‘fall’ into maternity ward”.
In all transparency, the actress revealed that it took her a while to find a balance. “I could no longer construct myself except in relation to what I imagined others expected of me. I wanted to show that I hadn’t changed, that I still had the same relationship with partying. I was always afraid of missing out on any moment of life. Having a child also teaches you that it’s where you are that something happens.”she explained.
Virginie Efira: “It encouraged other romantic moments”
Today, the actress is not ashamed of her periods of doubt.
“At the time, I was less told – or had less access to the idea – that one might not feel too good after birth. As soon as something went wrong, I felt guilty. Today, we are much more aware of this notion – le spleen post-natal, etc…”she indicated before specifying that there is no “of indicated imperative, of injunction to the mother’s stunned happiness”.
In order to welcome her child, Virginie Efira left the cinema for a few months. “I experienced this period intensely, joyfully, in a completely distended temporality. I realized that it was perhaps also more pleasant for the people with whom I live, because apparently, there was a kind nervousness on my part in the air…”she confided before specifying: “It encouraged other moments of love, other complicity with my children. A new way, quite simply, to visit your city and your neighborhood, to discover places”.

Passionate about her work, the actress did not allow herself to take vacations. However, she has learned to enjoy it completely. “It’s a new feeling, a little exotic for me. Before, I said to myself: ‘What is this idea of a vacation, where you have to take bags, take trains, forget things, argue with each other and also risk being disappointed by the place? ‘ I wanted it as a series of gesticulations that I complained about, and yet systematically repeated!”she said.
Speaking about her hobbies, Virginie Efira added:
“Today, in this new family balance that has been found – a three that becomes four – there are new things to do together. Last weekend, for example, we were at Trampoline Park and, guess what, it was cool! Who would have said to me one day: ‘You’re going to go there, to this pinnacle of horror, and it’s going to be nice!’.
