After having played the main roles in the cinema for several years, Virginie Efira decided to take a well-deserved break. It must be said that the 47-year-old actress didn’t really have a choice, since she became the mother of a little boy named Hiro, born on August 28, 2023. Since then, she has taken care of the child she had with her companion, the actor Niels Schneider and everything seems to be going well. “I’m doing very well! So well that I reassure everyone by saying that this state of bliss will not last!”she jokes in an interview with Marie Clairethis June 27.
Mother of a little Ali (born on May 24, 2013), this second birth quite distant does not scare Virginie Efira. The Belgian actress also talks about her parenthood with Niels Schneider and her past family “from three to four”, in this same interview. After being a real workaholic, making films one after the other, the actress takes the time to relax and when she wants to escape from Parisian life, she doesn’t go far. “From a decade, I rent the same house in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, in the 94 (Val-de-Marne, editor’s note), forty minutes from Paris“she explains.
A “very old house” in Val-de-Marne
A destination that could surprise more than one person, but obviously Virginie Efira – who gave strong testimony against Joachim Lafosse, at the heart of serious accusations recently – found the ideal place a stone’s throw from the capital. “It’s a very old house like in my dreams, magically decorated, very old, with a large garden and jasmine on the facade. I spend a lot of time there every time. This house is a fairly objective dream, except for people who are obsessed with modernity. I love being there, inviting friends”she explains to Marie Clairebefore making a little confession: “I tried to convince my daughter and Niels to live there.”
Although she enjoys Val-de-Marne, Virginie Efira does not forget to escape a little further afield at times. “In the summer, I also go to the south of France, near Apt, to see my mother. And the village where we went to take the photos for Marie Claire is a place I know, on the Amalfi Coast. There is no more sublime place in the world. It’s prodigious”she concludes.
