The subject of pensions has been at the center of public debate for months. The opportunity for many retired artists to take a position and give their own experience regarding the situation. This is particularly the case of Dave. The Dutch singer is quite comfortable when it comes to broaching the subject. Moreover, the latter did not hesitate to reveal the amount of his pension which he judges to be “a shitty retirement”.

The life of an artist has its good sides, but also its bad sides. After an international career of more than 60 years that he still continues today and 6 million records sold, Dave perhaps thought he would receive a bigger pension. During an exchange with our colleagues from Evening Magthe 80-year-old man confided in his difficulties and his regrets linked to his little retreat.

Dave, unhappy with his “crappy retirement”, reveals the amount of his pension

First, the interpreter of Vanina denounced what, according to him, is the main problem of pension inequality In France. “That is to say that here in France, we have the executives and those who are not. The former have a better retirement than the latter and artists are part of the second category “, did he declare.

Dave, in order to be very transparent, also revealed the amount of his pension which he considers insufficient in relation to his lifestyle: ” With my retirement of 1700 eurosI don’t even have enough to pay my rent, far from it ». He had also described this sum as « shitty retirement » in an interview given to Figaro.

The Dutch singer is not one to count: “I must have forgotten something…”

On the plateau of Big Mouths on RMC last May, the octogenarian had also compared this “little retreat” with that of an acquaintance: “I have a friend’s girlfriend, who is a retired flight attendant, who at 3,000 euros ». To explain this difference, Dave blamed the artists’ pension system.

“Back then, in the 1970s, there were vignettes. It was around 450 francs per artist. So, whether we earned 10,000 francs or 1,500 francs, it was the same amount for retirement”he had deplored. However, this regime would not be the only reason for his current misfortune… In full glory, the singer of the hit Near Swann would have been more cicada than ant ! ” Obviously, I won a lot of money, I spent more than I earned. But retirement is still based on what you declare. I must have forgotten things, surely”he admitted.

Dave lives in the 16th arrondissement in a secure villa: “It’s a ghetto of rich people…”

Despite his complaints, Dave never really left that lavish life behind. The latter indeed lives in one of the most privileged places in Paris, la Villa Montmorency, in the prestigious 16th arrondissement. In this residence entirely fenced and secureits neighbors are artists, business leaders and even politicians.

Nicolas Sarkozy has also taken up residence there since his departure from the Élysée in 2012. The artist is therefore not not the most to complain about. “It’s really a very, very nice place. It’s a ghetto of rich people. I’m not going to betray all my neighbors, but there are a lot of us. I am surely the poorest from this place. I have a garden, a dog who is happy”he admitted.
