A statement as a declaration of eternal loyalty: “It has been an honor for me to be Britney’s attorney, working with her to achieve her goals in obtaining the court-ordered suspension of her former conservatorship and then restoring her fundamental rights and civil liberties, while continuing to protect it and, more recently, to rescue it from all ongoing litigation […] Like I’ve always said, the credit goes to Britney. » By these words quoted in the Hollywood Reporterthe lawyer Mathew Rosengart announces that he is no longer the legal representative of the star, who was able to regain his free will after a court decision rendered on November 12, 2021.

That day, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County decided to put an end to a thirteen-year conservatorship, orchestrated by the father of Britney Spears, Jamie. The man exercised abusive control over her life, from managing her money to managing her desire to become a mother again. “The next step for Britney depends on one person – and this is the first time we can say that in a decade,” greeted the star’s lawyer. It’s all up to Britney. Britney, as of today, is a free woman. »

One last battle settled with his father

Although the guardianship was broken three years ago, Mathew Rosengart remained close to Britney Spears to manage the aftermath of the court decision and in particular, the dispute which still opposed him to his father. Since the end of her guardianship, Britney Spears’ life has not been smooth sailing. Her ex-husband, Jason Alexanderresurfaced in his life to try to prevent his marriage to Sam Asghari, his companion and long-time sports coach. They divorced the following year, after six years together. During their marriage, the singer suffered a miscarriage. She announced it to the general public on Instagram: “It is with our greatest sadness that we must announce that we lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Maybe we should have waited until we were further along in the pregnancy to announce it, but we were so excited to share the good news. » Britney Spears thanked her lawyer numerous times on the same social network. “This man is wonderful!!! He is like a father to me. I adore and admire you”, “This man changed my life… So many exciting projects to come!!!!! »
