Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri has chosen to drop her father’s name during her high school graduation ceremony.
A definitive abandonment? Suri Cruise, 18, made a symbolic decision. While the young girl attended her high school graduation ceremony last weekend, she chose to drop the 61-year-old actor’s name on the graduation ceremony brochure. diplomas, obtained by Page Six.
The daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, separated since 2012 after eight years together, was in fact listed under the name “Suri Noelle”. A choice which could be a reference to her mother, the actress’s middle name revealed in “Dawson” being Noelle, according to the British newspaper The Independent.
Towards formalization before the courts?
Tom Cruise, who would no longer have contact with his youngest daughter, due to the links that the star maintains with Scientology, did not attend the ceremony, reports the American press.
An estrangement which could lead Suri Cruise to go further in her approach, by taking legal action in order to legally abandon the surname of the star of “Mission Impossible”.
She would not be the only one to initiate such a procedure. Earlier this month, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, one of the daughters of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, officially asked a US court to shed her father’s name.
Within the Jolie-Pitt clan, two other of their daughters have also recently chosen not to wear the actor’s name on a daily basis. Vivienne was recently credited as “Vivienne Jolie,” as part of the musical “The Outsiders,” which she co-produced with her mother. Zahara, for her part, was the first not to use the name “Pitt” during a university meeting in 2023.
