Kendji Girac: the conclusions of the investigation given, the singer shot himself “voluntarily”

An investigation into “attempted manslaughter” had been opened by the Mont-de-Marsan public prosecutor’s office. This Monday, the public prosecutor gave the conclusions in a press release, relayed by BFMTV. According to Olivier Janson, the singer shot himself voluntarily.

”The investigation carried out made it possible to formally exclude the intervention of a third party in the occurrence of the shooting. The procedure was therefore closed without further action.”, we can read in the press release. The shooting is attributed to the singer’s state of intoxication and his consumption of narcotics.

Two offenses were brought against Kendji Girac: acquisition and possession of a category B weapon and illicit use of drugs. The first was dismissed. The artist was last auditioned on May 15. During the interview he claimed to be unaware that the weapon was loaded, which could not be confirmed by investigators. The provenance of the weapon, a Colt 45, is also unknown.

The procedure aimed at “the offense of psychological violence” on his wife was also dismissed. Kendji Girac told investigators that he “was not aware of what he was doing with this weapon and that he therefore did not want to put pressure on his partner”, although he had previously explained that he had wanted to scare his partner. Soraya Miranda had denied any suicide blackmail made by her companion.

Given the singer’s lack of criminal record, the prosecutor only asked him to pay money to associations helping victims of violence. He must also be subject to health monitoring for six months. If this follow-up is respected, the procedure for drug use will also be dismissed within a month.
