Back in France, the Olympic flame was passing through the Alpes-Maritimes this Tuesday, June 18, passing through seven municipalities: Villefranche-sur-Mer, Grasse, Cannes, Valberg, Monaco, Antibes and La Colmiane, before ‘reach Nice.

The Olympic flame resumed its journey with freediver Alice Modolo who went to search for it at a depth of 40 meters in Villefranche-sur-Mer. She then crossed several municipalities. Many personalities were in the spotlight, such as former athlete Stéphane Diagana who lit the cauldron at the end of the day in Nice. Alain Bernard, former swimmer, Alizé Cornet, the recently retired tennis player and Nathalie Lesdema, former executive of the French team, also carried the flame. Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc wore it in Monaco.

We were also able to meet other champions such as the double world champion in alpine combined, Alexis Pinturault, the former captain of the American women’s football team, Megan Rapinoe, the snowboarder Shaun White, the basketball player Suzanne Bird, the skier Mikaela Shiffrin and Mexican American football player Diana Flores.

In total, 157 torchbearers carried the flame during the day, including the famous singer Ben Mazué, the American actress Halle Berry and the General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, Thierry Frémaux.
